Tips for long road trips with young kids

Car travel with toddlers and young children can be stressful at times, which is why a little preparation can go a long way.
Here are some helpful tips for ways to smooth your family's ride on those longer trips.
Stretch those legs
If you are heading out on a multiple-hour journey, make sure you break the trip up into more digestible pieces for the young ones.
Regular stops to let them out for a run around or to use public toilets have the added benefit of giving everyone some fresh air and a bit of exercise - good for staying alert on the road.
Where possible, time your trips so that young ones are nodding off to sleep just as you are heading off.
This may involve leaving early in the morning or late at night, so make sure the driver is awake and alert!
Choose the right tyres
When you buy car tyres it pays to think about all your passengers' needs as well as your own when you do a tyre comparison.
By choosing tyres which have a smooth and quiet ride can reduce the in-vehicle noise level when on long trips, meaning young children and infants benefit from a calmer environment.
