Fight fuel costs with regular tyre maintenance

If you've been paying attention at the petrol pump over the last decade or so, you might have noticed that fuel costs have been rising at a somewhat steady rate.
Obviously, there are lots of reasons behind that, and it can all get complicated when you start getting into it.
For most of us, it is simply a fact that we need to learn to live with and adjust for.
Rising petrol prices may prompt some of us to take to public transport when practicable, or to use the car less for short errands around the neighbourhood.
Sometimes, however, we need to take the car as there is simply no better way to get to where we need to be.
In these cases, it is a good idea to do what you can to improve your vehicle's fuel efficiency.
One great way of doing so is by performing regular tyre maintenance checks. For example, simply checking that your tyres are fully inflated once a week could have a big impact on your fuel consumption.
Similarly, wheel alignments and tyre rotations can improve the performance of your vehicle and remove resistance to forward momentum, meaning that your engine doesn't have to work so hard to get you where you need to go.
